With the continuous withdrawal of COVID-19 regulations, getting back to work at the office is becoming more common. We get dressed, commute (hopefully not too long), meet our colleagues in person, and have the coffee corner conversations! When making our coffee, each colleague has her/his preferences – in a small glass, extremely hot, no milk, just sugar, decaffeinated, with cold milk, or even tea? Like the coffee preferences, each user has her/his preference when it comes to the information displayed in SAP Business One with regards to the “Choose from List” (CFL) windows (or “List of …”).
With the Web Client for SAP Business One, each user can customise the “List of …” windows and save their preference for future use. The “Views Management” functionality enables you to do more than that. You can create multiple views, i.e., sets of preferences for each object, and use them as required. For example, you work for a global company based in the US. One of your daily tasks is to create sales documents for local customers who pay in USD only. When you open the “List of Business Partners” window you see all the registered customers using multiple currencies:
Using the Web Client, you can filter the list by the currency “$”, and save it as your default view in five simple steps:
- Open the “Adapt Filters” form to add the “Currency” field to the filter bar.
- Assign the currency sign “$” to the field.
- Set the value to “Customer” in the BP Type filter field.
- Click “Go” and review the results; if you are happy with it continue with the next step.
- Click the views dropdown menu, then “Save as”. Assign a unique name to your view and set it as default.
The next time you open the “List of Business Partners” window you will see the view you created with the data you require.
This is just one example of views you can create; the displayed columns and sequence can be adjusted as well.
Available in Web Client for SAP Business One 10.0, and SAP Business One 10.0 version for SAP HANA. Please get in touch if you would like to upgrade to version 10.0.
