Transparency – we have learned to love this word. It implies that there is no small print, that expectations are aligned, and it encourages us to trust and believe that there will not be any unpleasant surprises. We demand transparency from our employees and expect it from our business partners. It is also highly significant when transforming sales and purchases into accounting records. When creating documents in SAP Business One that generate journal entries, you can preview the expected journal entry before you add it to the document. In addition, you can also decide that the journal entry will be split according to the document lines, so you’ll have it one-to-one.
But what if this is not a perfect match for your business? Let’s say you have documents with dozens of lines, do you need the journal entry to reflect that? Maybe for accounting purposes, the condensed transaction is sufficient. Well, you can have it all:
In the “Spit Journal Entry Posting by Document Lines” setting, you can choose the option “Split in Journal Entry Preview Only”. This way, you can review the detailed and transparent 1:1 journal entry and adjust the document if needed before adding it. Once the document is added it generates the journal entry that is not split by document lines.
Available in Web Client for SAP Business One 10.0, and SAP Business One 10.0 version for SAP HANA. Please get in touch if you would like to upgrade to version 10.0.
