As a SAP ABAP Developer you will be working as part of an experienced team responsible for the technical design, testing, implementation and support of new SAP based IT solutions and the modification and enhancement of existing SAP systems.

Possibly handling multiple pieces of work simultaneously, alongside ad-hoc support queries, you will be able to organise your time effectively on a daily and weekly basis, reporting and requesting assistance as required.  

You will be skilled in providing estimates in a timely manner, providing expertise for trouble-shooting and performance issues, communicating effectively with customers and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to develop their understanding of the latest trends in SAP technology and has the drive to remain current in terms of development skills whilst maintaining the day-to-day operational activities.

Essential technical skills and experience

  • Minimum four years’ experience in SAP ABAP design and development, ideally with a consulting firm, systems integrator and/or an enterprise software company
  • Significant knowledge and experience of designing/implementing SAP products; technically proficient in SAP ECC6
  • Broad knowledge of SAP functional areas, particularly FI-CO, SD and MM; SD configuration experience desirable
  • Experience of: Report writing using ALV and ABAP lists; Sapscripts, Smartforms and Adobe interactive forms; Dialogue programming; SAP PI 7.1, 7.3 SAP PO 7.5 Interface development; BADIs/BAPIs; User exits/enhancements; BDCs; Idocs; Workflow; WebDynpro; LSMW

Desired knowledge and experience

  • Experience of SAP CRM, Fiori, Personas and HCM implementation
  • Experience of SAP Cloud Platform, Portal and API
  • Exposure to HANA and S/4HANA Migration

  • A track record of full project life-cycle and development activities
  • A proven ability to understand business processes enabling you to develop solution offerings, with the support of the SAP Solutions Architect
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to offer advice and provide effective feedback on potential solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritisation
  • A proactive, highly goal-oriented, self-motivated work ethic with strong commitment to teamwork
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, essential in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong decision making, judgment and analytical skills
