Whether you are the Managing Director, team lead, or a graduate starting your first job, having a visual illustration of processes is always insightful as it tells you exactly where you are and how to move forward. This is true for simple processes and much more important for complicated procedures involving multiple steps and stakeholders. This is why SAP Business One introduced workbench widgets:

Workbench widgets

The workbench widgets, which are part of the cockpit, illustrate the business processes followed by the company. Clicking the light blue icon opens a menu of common reports and functions related to the given step.

By default, four pre-defined workbenches are provided for sales, purchasing, financial, and inventory. Those can be added to the cockpit from within the widget gallery:

In addition, you can edit or create your own workbench widgets by using the Workbench Editor. More information is available in this How-To Guide and the official video.

Available in SAP Business One 10.0, and SAP Business One 10.0 version for SAP HANA. Please get in touch if you would like to upgrade to version 10.0.
