Work-life balance – hearing that a lot lately, right? Especially now that the work/home boundaries have become blurred. No matter how you phrase it, once in a while, everyone needs to disconnect and dedicate time to recharge. When you take some time off, you need to find the colleague(s) who can take over your tasks while you are away. If your company follows approval processes, the absence of authorised approver may cause delays and bottlenecks. To ensure workflow is not disrupted, SAP Business One enables you to set substitute authorisers for the employees that are on leave:

Substitute Authoriser

The window “Substitute Authorizer for Approval Templates” is available under Administration > Approval Process. Here you can assign substitute authorisers for the relevant approver and template during a defined date range. The checkbox “Hide Rows if “To” Date is Earlier Than System Date” enables you to refresh the table and display only the lines that are still relevant. Once the substitute authoriser acts on behalf of the original authoriser, the value in the “Substitute Action Performed” column is set to “Yes” and the row cannot be deleted. For tracking and transparency purposes, the change log for this window is available from within the context menu.

Available in Web Client for SAP Business One 10.0, and SAP Business One 10.0 version for SAP HANA. Please get in touch if you would like to upgrade to version 10.0.
