We are all familiar with the saying: “You can never be too careful”. Although we use it in our personal lives, it is pretty good advice when it comes to business too. Take for example a sales quotation prepared for a new customer – you may have shared all the details and prices over a meeting or a call, and yet when the customer receives the document some question marks or misunderstandings may still occur.

To increase clarity and transparency, SAP Business One enables you to incorporate special line types in marketing documents:

SAP Business One Special Lines

Adding the “Type” column to the document table enables you to set a special type format to the given line:

  • “Text” is for adding a line of text, where you can specify and emphasize any important information related to the items above or below.
  • “Alternative” indicates that the item that appears in this line is an alternative and should not be included in the document total (this type is only available in Sales Quotation).
  • “Subtotal” is for adding a subtotal where needed, whether for a long list of items or when there are clusters of items for different purposes, e.g. subtotal for garden furniture and subtotal for garden lighting.

Available in Web Client for SAP Business One 10.0, and SAP Business One 10.0 version for SAP HANA. Please get in touch if you would like to upgrade to version 10.0.
